Warsaw, 8/11/2017 – Base Group signed a contract with Swedish company Saab for the delivery of components for two A26 submarines which are being built in the Karlskrona shipyard.
Base Group will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of unique construction solution for the Swedish A26 submarines. Components produced in Poland will constitute an important element of the equipment of the Swedish submarines based on module building and scattered production concepts. “Base Group is the first company on a long list of potential partners from Poland” said Jyrki Kujansuu, Saab’s vice president for Poland and Baltic countries. During a press conference Kujansuu said that the company is currently searching for partners to realise deliveries of components, equipment elements and systems that can be used in A26 submarines. Base Group products meet our requirements perfectly. The company is highly experienced when it comes to steel welded constructions, and I am delighted that it is joining the supply chain for the Swedish A26 submarines. Short distance between our countries is a great facilitation in this co-operation. Business relations between Sweden and Poland are strong and we can use the experience and abilities of Polish partners in delivering equipment for Swedish A26 submarines.
The CEO of Base Group, Jakub Kaszuba, stresses that the company is ready to begin the deliveries.
“The contract with Saab for the delivery of components for Swedish A26 submarines is a prestigious honor for our company and we are ready to begin fulfilling it. The choice of Base Group proves that we are able to meet high requirements of the Saab group in terms of quality of production and delivery dates. We are proud that Base Group was chosen as the supplier of steel constructions with equipment, which will contain modules with Swedish submarine engines” said Jakub Kaszuba, the CEO of Base Group.
