Frequently Asked Questions about Certification

What certifications should a welding company have?

A welding company should hold, among others, ISO 3834 certification (welding quality requirements) and EN 1090 (steel structure manufacturing). Depending on the industry, additional standards may also be required, such as EN 15085 for the railway sector.

What does the EN 1090 standard mean?

EN 1090 is a European standard specifying requirements for the production of steel and aluminum structures. Certification confirms that a company meets quality requirements and is authorized to CE mark its products.

Is ISO 3834 mandatory?

ISO 3834 is not always formally mandatory; however, in practice, it is often required for advanced welding projects. It is frequently necessary to obtain other certifications, such as EN 1090.

Why are certifications important for the customer?

Certifications ensure that a manufacturer complies with defined quality and safety standards. For customers, this means reduced risk, compliance with legal requirements, and increased durability of the delivered structures.

Can I receive documentation confirming certification?

Yes — upon request, we provide up-to-date certificates along with detailed information regarding their scope and validity.
