We have many years of experience in manufacturing of welded insulator support structures for high voltage lines up to 1,100KV. The structures are made of stainless steel, machined and then tested for leaks, with helium molecule as the penetrating agent. High voltage insulator mounting structures must have welded joints of the highest quality – it is necessary to ensure their failure-free operation, also in seismically active areas. The input and output data of the welding process are collected and analyzed by the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) – WeldEye system.
For our customers from the high voltage power industry we manufacture various high quality aluminum constructions, such as aluminum heat exchangers for generator circuit breakers (GCB) used in power generators of up to 1500 MW.
We specialize in manufacturing aluminum heat generators for generator breakers, high voltage electrical power equipment insulated with gas or air, (Gas Insulated Equipment, Air Insulated Equipment). Generation Circuit Breakers (GCB) are perfect for new and modernized power plants of power plants with an output of 50 MW to 1,500 MW. They are equipped with advanced technologies with spring mechanisms. The comprehensive GCB offer comprises solutions ranging from circuit breakers without casing to individual solutions, including load switches, earthing devices, starting current switches and transformers.
SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) gas is frequently used in circuit breakers. It has an extremely high electrical durability and its thermal conduction is twice as high as that of the air. However, this gas contributes to the greenhouse effect and is not neutral for the environment. Nevertheless, it will not leak into the atmosphere if it is stored properly. Emissions of this gas into the atmosphere by equipment such as heat exchangers are only caused by human errors.
In the case of generator breakers, customers are provided the highest operating reliability of the spring mechanism, full control over maintenance as well as an interruption chamber with an improved cooling system. Heat exchangers are a proven solution in the case of larger and smaller power plants, both new and modernized ones. They perform equally well in all settings and are equipped with the most modern materials. They are also manufactured with the use of aluminum.
The aluminum heat exchangers for GCB are manufactured by Base Group must meet strict requirements regarding their weld tightness and durability. In 2015, Base Group’s research team undertook the task of developing a unique technology, in accordance with which we currently manufacture aluminum heat exchangers. In the course of our research, we were able to create a manufacturing process that meets our clients’ requirements. Our products meet strict requirements confirmed by a 100% quality control of the manufactured heat exchangers. To ensure high quality of each piece manufactured by Base Group we conduct a leak test with the use of the helium, in vacuum at 1×10˄-6 bar × cm3/s and a pressure (durability) test at 32 bar of pressure. Welded joints were positively qualified at a pressure of 64 bar. Our results are more reliable than similar solutions offered by manufacturers from Western Europe.
We manufacture high-quality equipment as well as aluminum and stainless steel structures for the power industry, in compliance with industry best practices.
